Contractual Benefits of Karachi American School

  • Initial contract of two (2) years, with annual contract renewal thereafter. A contract renewal bonus up to $3,500 per employee in the third year and US$5000 every year thereafter.

    Up to nine years of teaching experience accepted. [Placement on step ten of the salary scale].

     100% salary paid in US dollars.

     Retirement pay equal to an additional 15% of their basic salary paid into a US retirement account.

    Household shipping allowance 2000 lbs sea freight per family with additional 125 lbs per family air freight to post and back. Single allowance 1200 sea freight and 75 lbs air baggage.

    Additional sea freight each year after the initial two-year contract.

    Settling in Allowance of $200 / employee plus an additional $50 / dependent, paid at the time of arrival.

    Transportation for teacher and all family members from home of record to Karachi restricted economy fare.

     Annual home leave for employees and family members based on excursion fare.

    100% tuition remission at Karachi American School for up to three dependent children.

     Assistance for graduate study; strong Professional Development Program.

    Travel benefit for full-time student dependents of one (1) round trip per year to Karachi, based on excursion fare.

    Well accommodated Faculty Housing, with utilities and furnishing provided.

     Shared car provided complete with fuel, insurance and maintenance.

     $50,000 life insurance provided.

     Major medical and disability insurance provided through TIE Care.

    Reimbursable dental allowance of $300 per family / single $200.

    Employee’s physicals reimbursed thru Medical Insurance Program up to limit of $400 (deductible $100).

    Evacuation, repatriation, salary continuation insurance is provided.

    12 days sick leave per year cumulative to 36 days. Sick leave induces 3 days of discretionary leave per year.

     Membership in Karachi Recreational Association is provided.

     Membership in the US Consulate American Club is provided.

     Visa procurement by the school.

    Bereavement, maternity, recruitment and personal leaves provided.

Experience must be verified. All credits are calculated in semester hours. In MA+15 and MA+30 columns only graduate level course credits will be counted.
