Child Protection

The Karachi American School (KAS) is unwavering in its commitment to safeguarding the safety and rights of children in alignment with our core values.

KAS endorses the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child https://www.ohchr.org/en/instruments-mechanisms/instruments/convention-rights-child which was ratified by our host country, Pakistan on November 12, 1990. In the spirit of the Convention, KAS seeks to provide all our students with a safe and secure environment, acknowledging that all children have the right to be treated with respect and dignity at all times. In line with our commitment to child safety, our child protection policies are adapted from the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC)

The KAS Child Protection Guidelines provide child protection standards that take into account all cultures and international law. All members of the KAS Child Protection Response Team are at a minimum, ICMEC Level 1 certified and work to train staff and ensure the safety of all community members.

KAS uses international recruiting agencies during our hiring process. All candidates are required to submit an international background check before employment.
