What is Accreditation?

Accreditation is the educational community’s means of self-regulation through quality assurance and continuous improvement. The accreditation process is intended to strengthen and sustain the quality and integrity of education, making it worthy of public confidence.

Why MSA-CESS?

The Middle States Association (MSA) is a worldwide leader in accreditation and school improvement. They have helped various school leaders establish and reach their goals, develop strategic plans, promote staff development, and advance student achievement for over more than 125 years now.

The Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (CESS) aspires to build on the rich history of the MSA and help improve the quality of education in the United States and around the world by assisting schools to achieve excellence through the process of accreditation.

The MSA-CESS membership includes schools in 39 U.S. states and 112 countries around the world.

Benefits of MSA-CESS Accreditation:

1. Help the school to successfully establish and reach goals, develop a strategic plan, promote staff development and more.

2. Provide staff opportunities for professional development.

3. Build coalitions of parents, teachers and administrators, and unite diverse groups in the effort to provide the best outcomes possible for students.

4. Provide the school’s graduates access to a wider pool of colleges.

KAS and MSA-CESS Accreditation:

KAS first received its MSA-CESS accreditation in 1989, and it has been renewed ever since. We are now nearing the expiration of our current accreditation cycle and are initiating the renewal process.

Updates of the process will be shared here, so all members of the community can stay apprised of the progress being made.

How Can You Help?

The accreditation process is an exercise for the entire KAS community – staff, faculty, students, parents, and alumni. As we move through the process, the Board and/or management may reach out to you to participate and assist as representatives of the KAS community. If you would like to volunteer to be contacted for participation, please let johnminerva@kas.edu.pk know and we will keep you in mind!
